0 Comments 11 September 2008

Public Health minister Bautista Rojas, Dominican ambassador in Haití, José Serrulle; President Preval.

Santo Domingo.- Haiti president René Préval yesterday said the humanitarian aid sent by Dominican Republic will mitigate the effects of the storms Gustav, Hanna and Ike, and will help change the Haitian people’s perception of the Dominican authorities.

Preval welcomed Dominican president Leonel Fernandez’s initiative to send humanitarian aid and noted that it’s significant gesture by the Dominican people, given the fact they were also affected by the flooding and strong winds.

Preval, in the message to thank Fernandez, said the measure will also help strengthen the ties of brotherhood between Dominicans and Haitians.
