The Commercial Development Office of the Dominican Republic in Hong Kong confirmed Thursday that its government had agreed to grant visa-free access to passport holders of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) for a stay of up to 30 days with immediate effect.

“We welcome this confirmation by the Commercial Development Office of the Dominican Republic,” a spokesman of the HKSAR government said.

The availability of visa-free access to the Dominican Republic brings to 136 the total number of countries or territories agreeing to grant visa-free access or visa-on-arrival to HKSAR passport holders.

Currently, nationals of the Dominican Republic may visit Hong Kong visa-free for a stay of up to 30 days.
