Young Artists for Haiti recorded a revamped version of hip-hop artist K’Naan’s “Wavin’ Flag.” Proceeds from the recording will benefit Free The Children, War Child Canada and World Vision.
More than 50 of Canada’s brightest, emerging young stars gathered Thursday to record a song in an effort to help Haiti.
Renowned Canadian producer Bob Ezrin produced the song in Vancouver, which is set to be released in the next few weeks with proceeds going to Free The Children, War Child Canada and World Vision. Young Artists for Haiti recorded a revamped version of hip-hop artist K’Naan’s “Wavin’ Flag.”
“With the wealth of young artists coming out of Canada, it was obvious that this is something we had to do,” Ezrin said in a statement Thursday. “K’Naan’s lyrics in ‘Wavin’ Flag’ embody the pain, passion and determination of the Haitian people, and lend the hope of a brighter future. The response from the artists has been sensational, and I am so proud that, together, we may help to make a difference.”
