PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — A Haitian man kidnapped while working with a U.S.-based development foundation was found dead on Saturday, the group said.

The driver for the Pan-American Development Foundation was kidnapped Monday along with a British contractor. The contractor was released after four days and is now assisting authorities with the investigation.

The singer, who has already joined Hollywood actors and other global celebrities to raise funds for the victims of the Jan. 12 earthquake, flew into the wrecked Haitian capital Port-au-Prince aboard a private jet.

The report also mentioned economic loss suffered by the country, that reached 7.754 billion dollars, leaving 71 percent of the Haitians in extreme poverty.
